The Beautiful Mountain at JiuZhaiGou

We stayed in JiuZhaiGou for 5 days, but it seems that I could never get enough of the mountain covered with snow and cloud. Simply magnificent!

Dad spotted this magnificent while we were on our way back to the hotel. Without any delay, I was ordered to get out of the car to get the shot. I guess that it worth the efforts. :)

Visiting a Tibetan Temple

JiuZhaiGou is located a bit south of Tibet and has about 1/3 of Tibetan residents. Where there are Tibetans, there are many Tibetan temples. Almost every Tibetan is religious.

A prayer wheel is of a hollow metal cylinder, often beautifully embossed, mounted on a rod handle and containing a tightly wound scroll printed with a mantra.

Prayer wheels are used primarily by the Buddhists of Tibet and Nepal, where hand-held prayer wheels are carried by pilgrims and other devotees and turned during devotional activities.

According to Tibetan Buddhist belief, spinning a prayer wheel is just as effective as reciting the sacred texts aloud. This belief derives from the Buddhist belief in the power of sound and the formulas to which deities are subject.

Dad is always very playful, fun and funny. See, he was posing photos with everybody. Not sure how my mom thinks about him running around flirting with other girls?! Hmm...I know, my mom just thinks that my dad is funny, fun, maybe even lovable..."Who knows?!"

Dad Always Has the Great Sense of Humor and A Loving Heart

Dad left us on 05/19, and I miss him.

I miss him, especially during the weekend when we usually talk to each other over the phone, especially at night when I realized that Dad is no longer there for mom and me, especially when I dialed the old home number but only realizing that the number could never reach him again.

I miss him, missing the moment when we poking fun with each other, when we competing with each other on who takes better shots, missing touching his arm and feeling the warmth, missing him telling me all those silly stories about my mom over the phone,...

I wish I had hugged him longer at the GuiYang airport on my way back to the US; I wish I did not have a little fight with him; I wish I could see him one more time, just one more time even in my dream; I wish God could let me know he is doing just fine in heaven....

A little fun story about him. I know he will always live in the heart of my mom and me.

Of all the years, mom and I have always been very close, so close that sometimes my dad displayed his obvious jealous. His usual complain is that "why you always ask for you mom over the phone?!" So, his secrete strategy was to quietly pick up another receiver to overhear the "private" conversation between mom and me. The funny thing is that he could hardly keep quiet on the other side. Nine out of ten times, his "undercover identity" was disclosed by his inability to withhold from interrupting the private conversation.

I know Dad loves mom and me deeply, so deeply that I have no doubt that he could give up anything, include his life, for us without a single hred of hesitation. But, I also know that in his heart that he probably always thought my mom and me are a bit too silly. He often was amazed by how much gossip mom and I could ever do over the phone everyday. My dad has a great sense of humor and always thought "outside of the box" when it comes to creative ideas for mom and me. His unexpected comment can cover a huge horizon of anywhere from being funny, goofy, to being suede, deep. So deep, sometimes, I need my mom's help to truly appreciate his goofy thoughts.

This picture was taken when three of us visiting JiuZhaiGou, SiChun together the last month.

The Sensational View at the Santa Cruz Beach

Somehow, surprisingly, Bing, my wonderful roommate agreed to be my model for portrait shooting. Here are a couple of shots that stand out

A cheerful and lovely girl is always perfect for being a model...

Team Up to Cheer for the Tennis Champion

Paul Baty, the vicious tennis player who had recently finished up all his challengers and advanced to the final, is playing today. Of course, all the families, friends, and the most of all, the hard-core fans Paul has enjoyed over the years, had to present at the court, to cheer him up, or to put physiological pressure on the opponents. Yeah! That's the spirit of the loyal fan base.

Moms and dad anxiously watching every single move of the game outside of the court...

Here is how a champion winning each game not only by skills but also by talking to the opponent's mind. I bet this conversation put all his challenger's hope to win to a final stop.

Cheering for the winning.

The little Chenstner, the little monkey, is always there praying for the victory...

A little background information. Paul Chan, another member of the gang was in Taiwan at the time of the game. Paul Chan give Paul Baty the little monkey as a birthday gift. That's how the monkey is named as "Chenstner - another name for Paul Chan".

The very proud family...

Just like what the KongFu Panda said:"It does not matter how many challengers he faces, there is no match for his velocity and viciousness..."

Paul (talking to Paul Chan):"Buddy...You don't know how much fun you have missed...The tennis game, and the pretty girls... "

Old Town of Lijiang, YunNan (1)

Lijiang, in south China's Yunnan Province, is the only Chinese city listed on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list. With a history of 1,300 years, it is generally referred to as the Old Town of Lijiang, home to the ancient Dongba culture and a major scenic area in China.

The beauty of this ancient city also lies its nature and harmony with its surrounding geological environment. The Yulongxueshan Mountain with the altitude of 5596 meters and the 4th generation of glacier relic lies in the place where is 30km away in the northwest of the ancient city.

The Yuquanshui River includes three mainstreams, which flow towards the west, east and in the middle. The river running into the ancient city includes many branch canals, so the network of rivers mixed with the roads of the five-flowered stones. You can get the beautiful picture that " every house is surrounded by the rivers and bridges".

Walking along the river, I felt as if the time flying back...
